Serious Sam

June 27, 2009 Butthurter 2 comments

If you’ve missed the news like I did, then you’d be surprised to know that everyone’s favorite shoot ‘em up arcade style FPS will be coming to Steam. Croteam has been working on making both the First and Second encounters for the original Serious Sam to run on the (latest?) Serious Engine. Thanks to CS-Nation, we now know that there will be something serious to look forward to other than HL2: Episode 3, Left 4 Dead 2, or other Valve games for Valve fanboys. The 360 and PS3 versions will be released later this summer, while the PC version will be released on the fall. However, the only bad news is that this will crash and burn the Serious Sam Forever mod out of business. There are also some info gathered from the guys at Seriously! Now, for some orgasmic pictures.

I’m pretty much loving the new HUD. I thought they’d stick with that shitty cartoony HUD they did with the Xbox version of SS1 and SS2. The games still look like they’re going to be sold seperately from the looks of the news mentioning about the first encounter over and over again.

Thanks again, CS-Nation.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I haven’t watched it yet, and Jesus H. Christ! We ran out of tickets. Although I may be able to watch it on Tuesday next week. I honestly can’t wait to watch this. And wow, the Devastator looks huge judging from the trailers. Since there are barely any high quality pics of the Autobutts/Decepticonmen, I’ll leave you with a pic of Optimistic Lime.

Meet the Stressed Zoey

I forgot to introduce you all to Zoey. Poor Zoey’s having hormones lately with work and stuff and managing RED’s weaponry, so Scout drops by to cheer her up. Have fun reading through, even though it’s months old.

Half-Life 2 Episodes Ripoff

Basically, you’re wondering why it’s a ripoff. It’s not because that HL2: Episode 3 hasn’t made any progress yet, it’s because the HL2 Episodes are remotely the same and offer nothing new. We were promised a full game back before Half-Life 2 was released. Sadly, Valve decided to make the episodic games for HL2 to be better than the original HL2. We were promised a full game, Valve. The episodes should have been a DLC (Downloadable Content) for HL2 instead. Valve gave TF2 updates with fresh new contents once every two months, and L4D has it’s Survival Update, yet HL2 has nothing. NOTHING. Like our respect for Valve. Here are some of the facts on what Valve ripped us off:

* Significant content has been made for TF2, somewhat for L4D, and for most other Valve games, yet Half Life has never gotten the same treatment. The Orange Box doesn’t count at ALL.
* Valve put little faith in Episode 1 since they almost certainly started working on Episode 2 right after release
* The fact that Episode 3 is nearly identical to Episode 2 will decimate the community for both games
* The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes
* The new character designs seem bland and unappealing so far
* The community has lost faith in Valve’s former reputation for commitment to their games post-release.

Not to mention, these games charge you for full price on each episodes that should have been DLCs for HL2. Unlike L4D2, it’s a whole new game, but the HL2 Episodes are a huge ripoff. They’re not even full games and they look like they’re charging you full price which is usually for full games. If you share the same righteous and ego and deep hatred for Valve’s money making schemes that they don’t deserve even though they’ve served us good for so many years, than please join us. Oh and Left 4 Dead 2 was boycotted so hard that it got media attention (not really).

There’s also some impressions that Kotaku got from playing L4D2 along with a couple of screenshots.

I’d like to see myself some more hazmat zombies.
